In Repair

For those of you who do not appreciate poetry, I promise this will be the last one for a while! This for me, explores the pain in something, or someone, that tears away at you for too long. It's inspired by the John Mayor song, "In Repair". You might now draw a connection, but for me..the ending of the poem, is the begining of releif.

Lost the keys
Made a wrong turn
Created mistakes
Let flames burn

Love..
Became questionable truth
Experienced growth
Turned to foolish youth

My mind has torn
Taking side of the needed
Taking side of the wanted
Both convincingly pleaded

Yet, still lost.
Searching, wondering.."how?"
Caught on stage
Between curtain and final bow

Love..
A confused fairytale
Weight heavy on the heart
Breaking the scale

Bittersweet conclusion
Tears meet smiles
The mind begins to run
Many endless miles

Issues locked in
Revealing times of perfection
Hands held, Hearts full
An exciting connection

Pause.
Cannot go on.
Stop.
The picture's drawn.
Forward.
Love..It's already gone.
Play.
We've both withdrawn.

The keys are now found.
The car's in route.
It's time.
I'm on my way out.
